Malik injured but will play at Calcutta By Our Special Representative - 8 February 1999 NEW DELHI, Feb 7: Salim Malik is suffering from a hamstring injury but was expected to play in the Asian Test Championship game against India at Calcutta. ``I was very uncomfortable till last evening. But the pain has decreased in the last 12 hours,'' Malik told reporters after the match. ``I pulled my hamstring on Friday evening when I sprinted in pursuit of a ball. But I am confident that a break of eight days would be enough to get the injury heel up,'' Malik added. Salim Malik bitterly criticized the wicket saying it was not of Test standard. ``How can you play on it? It was the worst wicket I have come across in my entire career,'' he remarked. He was of the view that either the wicket should turn or seam. ``But the bounce should be even. Here the bounce was uneven which created a nightmare for the batsmen,'' he said.
