Bulls set for top of the table clash with Bushrangers Queensland Cricket - 13 December 1999
The XXXX Queensland Bulls will be at full strength for the top of the table Pura Milk Cup clash with the Victorian Bushrangers at the Gabba starting on Friday. The Queensland selectors today made just one change to the side that beat the defending domestic four day champions, the Western Warriors, by 10 wickets yesterday. Test paceman Michael Kasprowicz returns to the twelve in place of Joe Dawes. The match will also be the last Pura Milk Cup game for the Bulls at the Gabba this season, with the post Christmas matches to be played at the Allan Border Field at Albion due to the redevelopment of the Gabba playing surface. The Bulls have had a recovery day at the Gold Coast today and will train on Tuesday and Thursday. The Bushrangers arrive in Brisbane on Thursday morning and will train at the Gabba. Victoria currently lead the Pura Milk Cup ladder on 24 points from five games with the Bulls second on 18 points with a match in hand. Victoria are tipped to rest Test players Shane Warne and Damien Fleming for the match, although both could be available for Wednesday week's day/night Mercantile Mutual Cup clash between the two sides at the Gabba. The Bushrangers will also have to overcome the pressures of history, with Victoria not recording an outright win at the Gabba for 36 years.
