Roebuck to cover Lanka-Aussie Test series The Daily News - 31 August 1999 Peter Roebuck, the former Somerset captain and now a widely read cricket columnist will be in Sri Lanka to cover the Three Test series between Australia and Sri Lanka beginning soon. Roebuck is a keen follower and supporter of Sri Lanka cricket. When the Sri Lankans were in Australia early this year and they ran into the Muralitharan throwing controversy, Roebuck commented fairly and constructively on the issue which was widely accepted by all. Roebuck promised to be in Sri Lanka during the Aussie tour to see the improvements made to the game here. The Old Wesleyites Sports Club must be complimented for agreeing to sponsor his hosting at the club premises on September 7. The ceremony is organised by the Sports Media Association. Picture shows cheer leader Lionel Nawaragodagedera who was in Australia during that tour presenting a souvenir to Peter Roebuck at the MCG pavilion.
