Rajabdeen - ninth president of Moors SC The Daily News - 13 August 1999 Shafeek Rajabdeen elected as the ninth president of Moors Sports Club at their 87th annual general meeting held at the club house, called upon the members to work towards a five-year development plan to upgrade the club to international standards. Envisaged in their plans are extension of the new pavilion to house two modern dressing rooms, a fully equipped gymnasium and health centre, construction of two indoor practice wickets, squash courts and a modern swimming pool for the use of the younger generation and schools. Rajabdeen, who is managing director of Rajabdeen group of companies and a former president of the Billiards and Snooker Association of Sri Lanka (BSASL) succeeded A.J.M. Muzzammil to the Moors SC president's post. He is currently a member of the BSASL ranking, seeding and selection committee and was a former treasurer of Moors SC for an uninterrupted period of 17 years. Shabbir Dawoodbhoy was elected secretary, A.J. Rumy (treasurer), A.R.M. Aroos (ground secretary), K.S.M. Zarook (cricket secretary) and Chandika Hathurusingha (cricket captain).
