Irish Cricket Round-up

- Mike Hendrick and the Irish Cricket Union have agreed by mutual
consent to terminate his contract as Coach to the Irish Team. His
contract was due to espire at the end of the current year but he will
be leaving the post at the end of the current week, following the
completion of a UK tour by an Irish Development XI which is on this
week. The only Irish match left for this season is the annual
First-class game against Scotland.
- A disciplinary committee of the Irish Cricket Union today
announced that Stephen Smyth of the Brigade Club has been suspended
from representative cricket for five years and from all club cricket
until the end of next season. This followed an incident which
occurred in the team hotel at the end of the second of the two first
class matches during the South African Academy XI tour.
