Trinidad Clubs: Final, semis fall victim to rain Forbes Persaud - 22 April 1999 The heavy unseasonal rains which delayed the start of the One-day International match in Guyana also ruined local cricket yesterday. Not a ball was bowled in the Mt d'or limited-overs semifinal matches between Moosai's and Alescon Comet at the Queen's Park Oval and at Gilbert Park where Caroni Wanderers took on Clarke Road United. Moosai's need 158 off 28 overs to clinch victory in their game while in their encounter Clarke Road must go in search of 157 off 30 overs to qualify for the final. That game continues today. At Honeymoon Park in Tunapuna, the PowerGen Secondary Schools Championship Division final between Tranquillity Secondary and Presentation College (Chaguanas) could go nowhere because of the persistent showers. Resuming at 81 for six in reply to Tranquillity's 155, Presentation added eight runs and lost one wicket before the heavens opened up and sent the players scurrying for shelter. With no decision having been reached on first innings, the teams were declared joint champions.
