KB Rai U-13 cricket

Ankur Cricketers and CCS Manikganj won their respective matches of the 2nd KB Rai Memorial U-13 cricket tournament at the Kalabagan Club ground yesterday.

In the first match of the day, Ankur Cricketers recorded a convincing 30-run win over Kalabagan CA (Red).

Sent into bat, the Ankur boys scored 152 for five in the stipulated 25 overs. Captain Abid made a breezy 51 while one-down Rafi hammered a 37-ball 50 in an absorbing second-wicket stand of 98 runs.

In reply, the Reds of the hosts Kalabagan, could manage 122 for six in their share of 25 overs. Opener Ibrahim scored 50.

In the other match of the day, CCS Manikganj handed a five-wicket defeat on Cricket Coaching School (CCS).

In a low-scoring affair, the Manikganj boys, chasing CCS's 108 for nine in the stipulated 25 overs, reached the victory target of 109 in 22.4 over with Rocky notching an unbeaten 36.
