Bangladesh: Call to reinstate Abedin Our Sports Reporter - 9 April 1999 BCB meeting blasts selection committee Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in a meeting at the BKSP yesterday have recommended to dissolve the present selection committee and include experienced all-rounder Minhazul Abedin in the 15-man World Cup squad. Chaired by BCB vice-president Ali Khabir Chand, the meeting strongly condemned the three-man selection committee led by Enayet Hossain Siraj for their controversial team selection that sparked wide spread criticism across the country. President of BCB Saber Hossain Chowdhury and his general secretary however were not present in the meeting which was attended by 18 out of 33 members. The meeting also strongly recommended to include Minhazul Abedin in the Bangladesh World Cup squad. Talking to The Daily Star over telephone last night the BCB joint-secretary Mahmud Ul Haque said that the final decision will be made by the board president. The BCB boss failed to attend the meeting as he was reportedly suffering from fever. The general secretary Syed Ashraful Huq was out of the country.
