ICC Code of Conduct Commission set up

The Lord Griffiths, MC PC has been appointed Chairman of the 9 man ICC Code of Conduct Commission.
Making this announcement today, ICC President, Mr. Jagmohan Dalmiya said:
"I am delighted that the Commission will be led by such a distinguished person as Lord Griffiths. He has had an outstanding legal career rising to become a Privy Councillor and Lord of Appeal in the House of Lords.
"Lord Griffiths played first-class cricket for Cambridge University and Glamorgan. He has served as President of MCC and is currently chairing a MCC working party on the revision of the Laws of cricket. In golf, he has been Captain of the R&A at St. Andrews. He is also President of the Sports Turf Research Institute.
"He will bring to this important role his keen intellect and life-long love of the game of cricket.
"The Commission will comprise one nominee from each Test nation. The Members are:

"The Chairman's first task will be to review the recently concluded Australian Inquiry conducted by Mr. O'Regan, QC. The judicial inquiry in Pakistan will also be reviewed when it is complete and the report of a previous inquiry in India will also be made available to the Chairman.
"The Chairman is required to determine whether there is evidence in these reports requiring investigation in any other country. If so, there will be a further Inquiry with the Chairman assisted by two Members of the Commission independent of the country/ies concerned.
"The three-man Panel will report back to the ICC Executive Board at the conclusion of the Inquiry."
Mr. Dalmiya also announced the establishment of an Umpires Code of Conduct, separate from the Players Code of Conduct which previously covered umpires in some areas. © ICC
