Zimbabwe promise big effort to level series

SHEIKHUPURA, Pakistan, Nov 21 (AFP) - Zimbabwe captain Alistair
Campbell Saturday vowed a spirited fight to level the series after
losing his team first one-day international against Pakistan.
The teams meet in the second match here on Sunday after Pakistan won
the opening contest at Gujranwala by four wickets on Friday.
``We spoiled our good initial work and had we scored 270 plus we would
have won - but this time we will double our efforts,'' Campbell said.
The skipper is suffering from a stomach upset but hopes to be fit to
play.
Pakistan were relieved after their first one-day win in the current
home season. They lost all three limited-overs games against Australia
earlier this month and their only match of the ICC Mini World Cup
against West Indies in October.
``I always look for consistency in a team's performance and the boys
need time. Once they are set the team will perform consistently,''
Pakistan coach Javed Miandad said.
The third and final one-day match will be played in Rawalpindi on
Tuesday.
Pakistan and Zimbabwe will later play a three-match Test series. The
first Test begins in Peshawar on November 27. Others follow in Lahore
and Faisalabad.
