The left-handed batsman and left-arm spin bowler was replaced in the 16-man party after cutting the little finger on his right-hand on the way to South Africa.
Reports at that time said the injury would rule him our of the first three Test matches and because of that he was replaced but allowed to remain in South Africa.
Yesterday, however, the stitches were removed, the cast which goes all the way up to the elbow will be removed in another few days and, according to a cheerful Adams who bowled in the nets yesterday, he should be ready for action in another two weeks.
``That is what the doctor told me,'' said Adams yesterday afternoon, ``and I believe it will continue to heal quickly. Whether they will keep me or not, I do not know. That may depend on the selectors.
``It is all up in the air. I heard that I can stay for the entire tour if I want to, but no one has told me that. As far as I know, I should be here until after the first Test. After that I don't know.''
Adams hopes everything will fall into place and that he will rejoin the team.
