The former West Indies captain said Jamaica need 16 points to be in contention to win the championship.
``I am looking for a good performance from the players especially our batsmen,'' said Walsh at Sabina Park yesterday morning before the team left for the Norman Manley International Airport.
According to Walsh, although the team will be without three players, it still had two experienced players in James Adams and Robert Samuels and they should be among the runs.
``All the teams are playing well and it should be a very close competition. We played well against Barbados in our first game without five of our players and got first innings points,'' Walsh said.
He said the Windward Islands gained first innings in their first match but Trinidad and Tobago came back and won the match.
Walsh said the rest from the match against England last week did him and he is rearing to go. ``I will be putting out my best because we need the 16 points.''
Coach Kanhai said the competition was too early to call - to determine which team would be the eventual winner.
