The development being undertaken by the Winstonians is set to benefit the residents of Highfield, Glen Norah, Glen View and the surrounding areas as well bringing the sport to the residents' backyard.
The ground will be leased from the city council for a minimum period of 10 years and the director of Housing and Community Services has already approved of the move and a memorandum of agreement of lease has already been drafted.
The Winstonians Cricket Club will share the facility with the Zimbabwe Baseball and Softball Association.
