A fluent century by Sajith Fernando helped Colts CC score 239 for 5 in 50 overs in their Cricket Board Premier Division Inter-Club limited over tournament second semi final match against Panadura SC at the Premadasa Stadium yesterday.
Electing to bat first Colts CC were in trouble losing opener Chaminda Mendis for two bowled by Nilantha Perera with just nine runs on the board. It was then that Sajith Fernando walked into the middle and batted till the last over. His superb knock of 113 off 138 balls which included two sixes and six fours helped Colts CC to recover and make a respectable total.
Fernando was associated in a vital 83-run second wicket partnership with opener Dulip Samaraweera who scored 41 off 86 balls. Indika de Saram (26) and Jeevantha Kulatunga (45 with five fours) too make some useful contributions. Kapila Silva bagged two wickets for Panadura side.
The winners to this match will qualify to play SSC in the final on the Boxing Day at the same venue. SSC won the first semi final against Moors SC by three wickets.

A second wicket stand of 174 runs by Rashan Peiris (100) and Suranga de Silva (90), saw Moratuwa Sports Club to a big total of 256 for 4 declared in their match against the visiting Kent cricket team at the De Soysa Stadium yesterday.
