KARACHI, Dec 26: The training camp for the Pakistan cricket team for the forthcoming tour of India will start at the Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore from Dec 30.

Almost all the players who represented Pakistan in the home series against Australia and Zimbabwe, besides some who toured New Zealand with Pakistan A, would be asked to attend the camp which would serve as trials. The official list of the camp invitees would be released by Monday, he said.

The chairman of selectors Wasim Bari said the team for the Indian tour would not be named before the second week of January. He also said his committee would not be presenting a list of players for approval to the executive council which meets on Jan 3 at the cricket headquarters.

He said unlike the series against Australia, his committee should select a 15-man team and would submit it to the PCB who will announce it after securing clearance from the council.

Bari said he visited the Pindi Cricket Stadium where budding fast bowlers are participating in the fast bowlers camp being organized by Sarfaraz Nawaz. He said those bowlers along with batsmen like Wajahatullah Wasti, Mohammad Wasim, Azhar Shafiq and Akhtar Sarfaraz would be asked to join the camp at Lahore. He said Sarfaraz Nawaz would continue to pass on useful tips to the youngsters when he will also shift to Lahore.

Bari said he had planned a couple of matches between the camp probables that would help in selecting the best possible team for the demanding and gruelling tour of India.
