Salauddin Saeed, MNA and chairman National Assembly Standing Committee on Sports, Culture, Tourism and Youth Affairs, visited the camp and appreciated the efforts put in by the former pacer.

The national training for the fast bowlers was initiated by the Pakistan Cricket Board from Dec 9 in a bid to groom the probables in view of the forthcoming World Cup being held in England during summers.

Some 20 probables are presently under training, these include Fazle Akbar, Jaffar Nazir, Mohammad Shabbir, Naeem Ashraf, Mohammad Akram, Mohammad Ali etc. The training camp would continue through out Ramzan.

The chairman NA Standing Committee while addressing the media urged the cricket board to hold more such training camps for the youngster where experts work on their flaws.

The bowlers have been made to work out for a full morning session under the supervision of PIA physio Dr Riaz Ahmed while Sarfraz Nawaz is assisted by Afzaal Butt. Three different types to pitches are being used to groom the bowlers, which includes mud-roll pitch, seaming pitch and the particular one-day pitch. The evening two and half hour session is exclusively for the bowling practice. The training camp also has an exclusive workshop net where a bowler is made to work out to correct his technical faults in grip, finish, run-up, delivery etc. The boys in concentrated upon so that he improve his bowling. Tips are being given on use of crease while delivering the ball, on seam and swing.

Sarfraz Nawaz particularly mentioned names of Mohammad Shabbir of WAPDA, Mohammad Ali (ADBP) and Mohammad Akram (ABL) for having made fine improvements since the start of the camp. Shabbir's run-up has been extended while Akram's grip and finish has been worked upon.

A number of Pakistan-A team batsmen like Mohammad Wasim, Asif Mehmood, Yasir Arafat etc have also joined the camp.
