Senanayake was honoured during the official presentation of awards ceremony held last week in Mombasa.
Captaining Mombasa Sports Club, he has been instrumental in all their victories during the recently concluded season.
Senanayake was responsible for his club ending a barren spell without winning any major trophies when they won the CCA Postel Knockout final beating Jaffery's SC by three wickets.
Senanayake took two important wickets in the middle overs to dismiss Jaffery's for 194 in the penultimate over, after they were 102 for 2 at the halfway stage.
'Coastweek Today' said : ``Jaffery have often defended such a total in the past, but after Mombasa SC had lost two wickets for 20 runs, captain Charith Senanayake and Ravindu Shah took the score to 109 for two at the 25-over stage. Charith struck ten boundaries before falling for 73 ...''.
Mombasa SC went onto to score 195 for 7 in the 44th over and broke Jaffery's virtual monopoly in the tournament.
Senanayake, who turned 36, five days ago (December 19) is working for a British tea company in Kenya. A solid opening batsman, he turned out for CCC in the division I tournament and represented his country in three Tests (all against New Zealand in 1990-91) and seven one-day internationals.
