Speaking at the Barbados Cricket Association's (BCA) Christmas luncheon at the Barbados Hilton, the president insisted on continued development of Kensington Oval.
``We must make Barbados a venue of choice. I agree with the development of players, but we must develop the plant as well,'' he said.
Marshall's administration has in the past been criticised for its perceived emphasis on physical structures rather than players. There are currently six Test centres in the region and Marshall hinted that in another two years they could be as many as 12 in competition.
Development of a new ground was not within the BCA's financial grasp currently, he said.
``To switch from Kensington, we would need the assistance of benefactors to make such an idea a reality.''
The president also spoke of the need for restructuring of the association with a slimmed-down full-time board of directors.
The president said the BCA was working to get its rules straightened out so as to minimise difficulties in the future.
``We cannot allow the law courts to move onto the field of play,'' he said.
