Kenyan cricketers Maurice Odumbe and Steve Tikolo will play for
Mohammedan Sporting Club in the Janakantha Premier league, which
starts today in the city. This was disclosed last night by the club's
additional joint-secretary, Tanveer Haider, who received a
confirmation fax from the chairman of the Kenya Cricket Association,
Jimmy Rayani.
The two star Kenyan batsmen are scheduled to arrive in the city
tomorrow and are likely to feature in Mohammedan's first match
against Wari Club at the BKSP next Thursday.
According to Tanveer, the duo reached Dubai from Nairobi yesterday.
They are scheduled to reach ZIA tomorrow at 9:30 am.
Provided everything goes as per plan, the two will be the first
Kenyans to play in the Dhaka league. However, the two experienced
all-rounders are not unfamiliar here because of their tour with the
Kenyan national team, which was led by Odumbe.
