Basit, according to sources, had sent his travelling documents to the PCB headquarters in Lahore who had returned them to its office in Karachi after completing the formalities. The PCB representative in Karachi, however, failed to deliver the documents to the discarded batsman resulting in forcing the batsman to miss his flight.
After being handed over the documents on Thursday afternoon, Basit left for Hong Kong late Thursday evening.
Those who left earlier this morning are: Asif Mujtaba, Sajid Ali, Naeem Ashraf, Raja Arshad and Zahoor Elahi. Wasim Akram will fly directly from England.
