Aravinda bangs 117 off 101 balls

Sri Lanka vice-captain Aravinda de Silva showed ominous signs that he was in good touch with the bat when he hit a sparkling unbeaten century (117 off 101 balls) in the second and final practice match played by the Pakistan-bound Sri Lanka team at the SSC grounds on Monday.

De Silva smashed four sixes and nine fours in a scintillating display of batting to enable Sri Lanka 'A' total an impressive 277 for 4 off 45 overs. Sri Lanka 'B' were restricted to 142 for 8 off 39.2 overs when bad light ended the match, leaving Sri Lanka 'A' winners on a faster run rate.
