Addressing a press conference flanked by former Test cricketer Abdul Qadir, Jodie Davis who is here to coach the Pakistan women's cricket team which will participate in the World Cup Cricket Tournament in India from Dec 5, said lack of facilities and resources were hampering the promotion of women cricket in Pakistan.

Jodie said that all expenditures of her current tour were being borne by the Australian Sports Commission only to hone the skills of the Pakistani women, but in Pakistan there was not a single business house to sponsor their national team.

She said about 30 probables were training in the national camp at a local school. The final team, she said would be announced before Dec 3. Responding to a question, she said Pakistani girls were talented and had the ability to compete with any team of the cricketing world. Answering a question she said the Pakistan women cricket body headed by Shazia Khan was affiliated with the International Women Cricket Council (IWCC). She, however, welcomed, if the other group would like to send its players for her training camp.
