RAWALPINDI, Dec 2: Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram has taken eighth place in the all time list of wicket-takers with his 3-17 in the second Test against West Indies here on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old Pakistan skipper goes above England's Bob Willis, who took 325 wickets in 90 Tests. Wasim has now 326 wickets in 76 Tests from his 13-year career. India's Kapil Dev leads the rankings with 434 wickets in 131 Tests.

Akram is the only bowler to take more than 300 wickets in Tests and One-day Internationals. Akram made his debut against New Zealand at Auckland in 1984-85 taking an unimpressive 2-105 but hit headlines by grabbing ten wickets in his second Test at Wellington, still the youngest bowler to achieve the feat.

Twelve bowlers have taken 300 or more wickets in Tests. England's Fred Trueman was the first to achieve triple century of wickets.
