The champions finished the job they started in the league in May with an emphatic win over Arbroath. They first knocked up a daunting 245, of which Steve Crawley scored 89, and then skittled the visitors for a paltry 94 with Peter Steindl demolishing their top order with four for 19.

Arbroath, thus, remain in the relegation zone along with RHSM and Aberdeenshire. RHSM beat Strathmore convincingly after running up 200 for seven and then bowling out their opponents for 81, Asim Butt taking seven for 20 but Aberdeenshire lacked the firepower to bowl out West Lothian after scoring 231 for four.

Stirling County also find themselves in danger of returning to Division Two after losing at home to Carlton. Alan McLeod did the damaged with four for 39 and Alastair Storie (43 not out) completed the job.

Looking doomed are Freuchie, who were beaten by Heriot's by 47 runs. Shahid Aslam punished a lack-lustre home attack to reach a century in a total of 212 for seven and Ewan McIntyre then turned the screw by taking four for 39 as Freuchie capitulated for 165 in spite of Ian Gavin's brave 48.

West Lothian's Sanjay Patel kept his side in contention for the runners-up spot for the second successive year with an unbeaten 76 in a resounding victory over Heriot's on Sunday. Darren Cornforth took five for 15.

With the D M Hall Western Union title already in the safe hands of West of Scotland, Saturday's interest centred around places in the Scottish Cup next season.

Clydesdale did their cause no harm with a four-wicket win over GHK but Drumpellier lost heavily to Ferguslie for whom deputy professional Mansoo Elahi (76) and Stuart Black (53), were in good form. Jamie Graham also maintained his form with the ball taking five for 87 to ensure a 40-run victory.

Greenock lost ground when they went down to the champions West after Andre Percival (74) and Peter Dutchie (45) had put them in a good position. Jason Arnberger replied with another century which took him near the 900-run mark and West to an eight-wicket win.
