CRICKET (Abroad):

Australia coach Geoff March said in Brisbane that their team is going to Sri Lanka with a positive approach and with an open mind.He said, it will take some time to heal the relationship between the two sides.

Relations between Sri Lanka and Australia were badly affected last season when Arjuna Ranatunga and his men were first found guilty and then cleared of ball tampering, and off spinner Muttiah Muralitharan was called for 'throwing' during a controversial Test series in Australia. Subsequently, Australia refused to play their World Cup match in Colombo due to security reasons.

Marsh, who took over from Bob Simpson, said there will not be any change in Australia's traditionally aggressive approach. Acting captain Ian Healy and his team left for Sri Lanka on Monday to take part in the four-nation Singer World Series Cup tournament which starts in Colombo on August 26.

(Home):

All-rounder Craig Evens who will be touring Sri Lanka with the Zimbabwe team for the four-nation Singer World Series and twoTest series, is expected to make his Test debut against Sri Lanka next month.

The 26-year-old right-hand batsman and right-arm medium pace bowler, is yet to break into the Test circuit, but has distinguished himself as a useful batsman in the middle-order capable of making quick runs to suit the situation.

Evens who made his highest one-day score during the Wil- ls World Cup match against Sri Lanka at the SSC grounds early this year when he made an undefeated 39 off 35 balls, will be tested fully at the Singer World Series. He is tipped to be included in the Zimbabwe side for the first Test against Sri lanka which starts at the Premadasa Stadium on September 11.
