The Gayle-Sarwan show, in large part, spurred the West Indies to a mammoth total. The pair contributed 239 of the final score of 324 and added 128 runs for the third wicket before Gayle, on 140 off 127 balls, fell to rival explosive opener Virender Sehwag. Sarwan stayed till the end and, in the company of his newly returned skipper Carl Hooper, ensured that the West Indies got to what looked like a winning total.
