But it was a good day experimentally for India. With one eye on
the World Cup, the Indians tried the ploy of sending in Ajit
Agarkar to whack the ball around at number three. And boy did it
work! Agarkar took only 102 balls to hit up 95, with 11 fours and
two huge sixes. He was unlucky to miss out on a maiden - and
much-deserved - one-day century, but at least he has assured
himself of the one-down berth for the remaining six ODIs in this
series.
