Few batsmen can be as destructive on a good day as Adam Gilchrist, and against a Bangladesh attack with little tooth and penetration, he proved that easily. Cutting, sweeping, pulling and driving his way to 54 off 49 balls, Gilchrist ensured that there would be no upsets in this match. He could not see his side through to victory, though, falling lbw to Mohammad Rafique; but his partner-in-crime at the top of the order stayed.

What was the turning point of the Australia-Bangladesh match?

Bangaldesh electing to bat
Gillespie's three-wicket burst
The partnership between Hayden and Gilchrist
