Few batsmen can be as destructive on a good day as Adam Gilchrist, and
against a Bangladesh attack with little tooth and penetration, he
proved that easily. Cutting, sweeping, pulling and driving his way to
54 off 49 balls, Gilchrist ensured that there would be no upsets in
this match. He could not see his side through to victory, though,
falling lbw to Mohammad Rafique; but his partner-in-crime at the top
of the order stayed.
