(Harare 6th ODI - 4 Jul 2001)
In the sixth ODI in the triangular series for the Coca Cola Cup played
at the Harare Sports Club, India won the toss and asked West Indies to
bat first. The result of the match was of no significance as both the
teams had qualified for the final at the expense of Zimbabwe. West Indies
were off to a good start with openers Daren Ganga and Chris Gayle putting on
47 runs. Ganga (55) and Wavell Hinds (66) added 71 runs for the second wicket
to take Windies to 118/2 in 31.3 overs. Hinds was the aggressive of the two
batsmen, striking five boundaries and a six.
