Sachin Tendulkar knew that making runs on this track was not going to be easy. He cut down his attacking instincts and played a sensible knock to take India to victory. Along with Hemang Badani (27), he added 74 runs for the fourth wicket to take the match away from the Windies. Tendulkar was lucky to survive, not given out, after edging one from Hooper to Jacobs. Soon after he had the slice of good fortune, Tendulkar changed gears to attractive stroke play. India went past their target in the 44th over and won handsomely by six wickets; Shewag made 11 not out. Tendulkar remained unbeaten on 81 made in 110 balls with the help of eight boundaries and was named the Man of the Match.
