(Harare 1st ODI - 23 Jun 2001)
Alistair Campbell fought a lone battle making 68 off 108 balls
with the help of five boundaries. Campbell used the reverse sweep to
unsettle the spin of Nagamootoo to good effect. Campbell was caught by
the substitute fielder Sarwan off the bowling of Mervyn Dillon. Guy
Whittall made a quickfire 32 off just 29 balls but it was all too late
as Zimbabwe finished with 239/9 in 50 overs. For the West Indies team who
have been going through a bad patch, this victory must have given them
a morale boost.
