How to Fire
Currently any user of CricInfo can participate in the Firing Squad and voice his/her views. However, very soon it may require that you have to be a registered user to post your views. If you are not a registered user, please register by clicking here. Registering to CricInfo allows you to participate in several other features offered at CricInfo like chat, polls, contests, forums etc.
HOW DO I SELECT A TOPIC TO READ?
Click on the Topics link below, you will be taken to the TOPICS PAGE where there is a list of topics posted by various users along with the date when that particular thread was last updated is displayed.
Topics
Click on the topic to select a thread for reading. You will then be displayed the latest post on that topic, a list of follow ups to that post (if they exist) and a link to the complete thread.
Clicking on the "View Thread" link in the Topics page will display the first post made on that topic as well as the complete list of follow-ups on that topic.
HOW DO I START A NEW TOPIC OR RESPOND TO SOMEONE ELSE'S VIEWS?
Currently you can post your messages by providing a name and e-mail address.
However soon you will need to be a registered user to post. You will then be asked to login using your CricInfo login details.
If you are want to start a new topic, click on NEW TOPIC link on the TOPICS page and key in your message in the text box provided, and click "Post". Please ensure that the Topic that you put up is self-explanatory.
To reply to someone else's views, click on the topic and click on the Reply link and fire back in reply. You will not need to enter a subject. Once you hit the Reply button, you will receive either an error message or a message informing you that "Your message has been sent to the moderator's desk for previewing. It will appear on the site shortly".
"Firing Squad" is a moderated forum. This means that your postings need not appear immediately after you have posted it. Our moderators will read your posting and if it flouts any of the policies mentioned, it would be rejected.
READING YOUR MESSAGE
Once your message has been approved by the moderator's desk, it will show up the "Firing Squad" main Topics page.
If your post is the last post on that topic, the "Firing Squad" Topics page where a list of posts is displayed will display your name and the date of posting.
