Alistair Campbell is a class batsman with a lot of international experience
behind him. Campbell has played in all 50 of the Test matches that Zimbabwe
has played in. His career figures do not justify the quality of his
batsmanship. An overall Test average of 26.45 and a career average of 34.70
against India would not help him find a place in any international team. He
scored his maiden Test hundred (102) against India at Nagpur in November
2000. Campbell would be hoping to put up a good show with the bat, which
would help Zimbabwe to a Test series win against an Indian side that
doesn't have a good track record abroad.
