Set a target of 184 to make in the final innings, India got off to a shaky start. Das was lucky to survive a close call for a catch behind. Ramesh got into some trouble by knocking the ball away with his bat as the fielder was about to pounce on it. Ramesh (17) and Laxman (38) were the only wickets to fall to a Zimbabwe bowling which was depleted because of the injury to Streak and Olonga. Das (82*) made merry against the tiring and ineffective bowling.
