(Bulawayo 1st Test 7-11 Jun 2001)

Zimbabwe who were 79/3 in the second essay at the end of the third day, did well on the fourth day with the bat. They added 228 runs to their total, losing just four wickets to finish the day on 303/7. The Indian bowling was blunted by some crafty batting by Stuart Carlisle (52), Andy Flower (83) and Grant Flower (57*). The Flower brothers put together a partnership of 101 runs for the sixth wicket. It was an unfortunate day for the Indian fast bowler Ashish Nehra, he was banned from bowling anymore in the match by the umpire for running down on the middle of the pitch, after being officially warned twice.
