Kenyan captain Maurice Odumbe won the toss and elected to bat at the Willowmoore Park in Benoni on Sunday. South African skipper Shaun Pollock struck with the second delivery of the day as Kennedy Obuya (Otieno) was caught behind for a duck. Andre Nel and Pollock worked up a good pace and the Kenyans struggled against the fast bowling. Ravindu Shah (8) was dismissed hit-wicket off the bowling of Makhaya Nitini, slipping on to the stumps in his effort to go back to fend. The third Kenyan wicket fell at 35, David Obuya lifting a drive off Jacques Kallis to Andre Nel at mid-off.
