2001 Tuanku Ja'afar Cup, in Thailand, despite only playing one match.

debut at the Asia Cup will have to wait a bit longer, as the tournament

Hong Kong qualifies
for the ACC Trophy final after beating Nepal by 179 runs. By reaching
the final, Hong Kong qualifies for the 2001 Asia Cup, where they will
face the test playing nations of Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
The team also collects US$100,000 to help in their preparations for the
Asia Cup tournament.
