VVS Laxman broke too many records on his way to 275* at close of play on the fourth day. He passed Ravi Shastri's record of 206, the highest individual score by an Indian batsman in Tests against Australia. Soon he conquered the highest individual score by an Indian batsman in Test cricket against any country, Sunil Gavaskar's 236 made against West Indies.
