- Scorers: VH Isaacs and KR Booth
- In an exciting finish Zac Morris hit the last ball of the match
for four to secure a tie in Hampshire's second pre-season friendly
against Surrey at Southampton.
- Hampshire put Surrey in to bat on a dull overcast morning.
Alex Morris and Simon Renshaw took advantage of the conditions to have
the visitors reeling at 24 for 5. Batty and Tudor
then brought the innings round with a seventh wicket stand of 97,
then help from Salisbury saw Tudor hit a swashbuckling 72 off 56 balls.
- Hampshire lost early wickets in their chase, but recovered
through Smith (49), then Keech and Kenway. Defeat looked inevitable
until Renshaw came in at 178-8, he was well supported
by Zac Morris to bring the game to a tie.
