Date-stamped : 28 Jul97 - 14:45 Although Leicestershire squandered three important wickets through run outs and then conceded 13 runs in wides, they over- whelmed Nottinghamshire by a margin of 87. It was their first Sunday win at home for a year. Vince Wells, Ian Sutcliffe, James Whittaker and Darren Maddy all had the Notts attack by the throat, but only Whitaker pros- pered, scoring 73 off 80 balls with five fours and a six. Considering the pitch was a belter, Leicestershire`s total of 252 was not too daunting, but once Paul Johnson was third out at 74, Notts were out of the hunt.
