``To white-wash any team on Pakistani wickets is by itself a great achievement and here we are on the verge of doing against the West Indies,'' Akram told reporters at the National Stadium. ``The West Indies may be down at the moment but they are a very big team. To beat them, you have to be mentally tough which the boys have shown they are,'' he said.

Akram said except for Rawalpindi, the wicket at Peshawar suited stroke-play and the same can be said about the Karachi wicket. ``The bowlers bowled their hearts out to put me in a position where I can enter record books,'' he added.

Akram stated that he was a firm believer of the fact that wickets should be prepared that don't suit the visiting team. He said fast pitches were not made because they would have given them the edge. ``The West Indies only strength is fast bowling. On the contrary, we can bowl and dismiss an opposition twice because we have a lot of variety in our bowling.'' Akram opined that he has been bowling on these track for the last 14 years while Waqar Younis has taken most of his wickets here. ``If we can do it, others also can.''

The Pakistan captain admitted that when his team will visit South Africa in three months time, quicker wickets will greet them. ``But if we go with a 3-0 win over the West Indies under our belt, we would bepsychologically stronger. ``This win over the West Indies will help us a long way in taking a shot at South Africa. ``I am vying to earn the tag of unofficial world Test cricket champions and for that we have to beat South Africa and Australia next year. It may be difficult but when you play with a rhythm with which we are playing, it is makes the task easier.''
