Faisalabad & KCCA 'W' match drawn

KARACHI, Dec 30: As expected the four-day Quaid-i-Azam Trophy National
Cricket Championship Grade-I match between Faisalabad and Karachi Whites
at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad ended in a tame draw on Tuesday.
According to details available here, Karachi Whites reached 25 without
loss in their first innings. Openers Salman Huda (13) and Kashif Ibrahim
(12) faced 17 overs when play was called off.
The first two days of this match were washed out by heavy rains and play
finally began an hour after the lunch interval on Monday with Faisalabad
reaching 146 for five in 51 overs after Karachi Whites skipper Aamir
Hanif had won the toss.
On the last day, Faisalabad opted for batting practice and scored 298
all out in 113.5 overs. Test discard Ijaz Ahmed Junior narrowly missed a
century by six runs after resuming at 24. His overnight partner Saadat
Gul contributed 39 in a 102-run partnership for the sixth-wicket.
For Karachi Whites, pace bowler Kashif Ibrahim claimed four for 52.
while spinners Salman Fazal two for 56 and Arif Mahmood two for 60.
