``It is important to be in a clear frame of mind. We want to play a good tournament and win it. Thinking of what has taken place won't help,'' said Tendulkar, who arrived yesterday after attending the captain's meeting in London.
Tendulkar denied having called his team as ``B-grade'' and said: ``I never made a statement like that''.
The Indian captain slammed the Indian cricket selectors for saddling him with a B-grade team for the Pepsi Asia Cup tournament.
Tendulkar was quoted by a news agency of being unhappy over the omission of left-hand batsman Vinod Kambli and wicket-keeper Nayan Mongia whose places were taken by Mohammed Azharrudin and Saba Karim respectively.
The Indian captain said that he had no objections to Azharuddin's inclusion in the team and rated him as a great player who could prove useful with his experience.
India play their opening fixture in the tournament against Sri Lanka on Friday at the R. Premadasa Stadium.
The captains of all four countries - Arjuna Ranatunga (Sri Lanka), Sachin Tendulkar (India), Rameez Raja (Pakistan) and Akram Khan (Bangladesh) were present along with officials of the respective teams and of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board for the pre-tournament press conference held at Hotel Taj Samudra yesterday.
The Pepsi Asia Cup was presented by Pepsi country manager Neil Chatterjee to Sri Lanka Cricket Board and Asian Cricket Council president Upali Dharmadasa.
Sri Lanka Cricket Board chief executive Dammika Ranatunga said that the organisers in consultation with ICC match referee John Reid had taken a decision to have the option of shifting venues of matches if bad weather interferes.
All seven matches of the tournament are scheduled to be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium and the SSC grounds.
