- Partnership of 240 for the 4th wicket of the New Zealand 2nd innings
between SP Fleming and CD McMillan is a record in Tests against Sri
Lanka (previous: 82 between JF Reid and SL Boock at Colombo Cricket Club
in 1983-84). It is the 3rd highest partnership for any wicket for New
Zealand in Tests against Sri Lanka. It is the 2nd highest partnership
for the 4th wicket in Tests for New Zealand against any country (best:
243 between MJ Horne and NJ Astle v Zimbabwe at Auckland in 1997-98).
- SP Fleming's match aggregate of 252 runs (78 & 174*) is the 4th highest
in Tests for New Zealand.
- SP Fleming's 174* is the 2nd highest individual Test score by a New
Zealander in Sri Lanka (best: JF Reid 180 at Colombo Cricket Club in
1983-84).
- PJ Wiseman's 5-82 in the 2nd Sri Lankan innings are the 3rd best ever
by a New Zealander on Test debut (and best since BR Taylor 5-86 v India
at Calcutta in 1964-65). His match haul of 7-143 are the best figures
on debut in Tests for New Zealand (previous best: FJ Cameron 6-92
v South Africa at Cape Town in 1961-62).
