Date-stamped : 06 May96 - 02:14 Sunday League 1996 Glamorgan v Yorkshire Sophia Gardens, Cardiff 5 May 1996 ====> REPORT By Edward Bevan Glamorgan (168-6) beat Yorkshire (167-7) by four wickets ADRIAN DALE, with 53 not out, scampered a single off the last ball to give Glamorgan a thrilling victory at Sophia Gardens after the Welsh county had required seven runs from the final over bowled by Darren Gough. Having been set a target of 168, Glamorgan stumbled to 74 for four in the 21st over. Dale and Robert Croft put on 80 for the fifth wicket but when Croft was brilliantly caught by Alex Morris and Gary Butcher was run out in the same over, Yorkshire almost sneaked a win. Dale, dropped from the team last season, played a chanceless innings, scoring his runs from 82 balls. Yorkshire, who were put in, stuttered in mid-innings after a good start, losing four wickets for 16 runs, but a useful partnership from Craig White and Morris, the England under-19 captain, guided them to 167 for seven. Glamorgan were indebted to Croft, who took three wickets, and Steve Barwick - the spinners conceding only 42 runs from 16 overs.
