Wesley scored a sedate 83 for 3 in reply to St. Peter's 213 for 9 declared in their annual cricket encounter which began at Campbell Park, yesterday.
Wesley showing much improvement this year sans two of their senior players suspended on disciplinary grounds did well after having sent the Peterites to bat to claim five wickets for 110 runs at lunch.
The Peterites laboured painfully over their runs and took as much as 74.2 overs and 305 minutes to declare at tea with their score at 213 for 9.
Nandika Herath and Ishara Fonseka batted well to score 43 and 40 respectively while Wesley's skipper Manjula Karunaratne with his leg spin claimed 3 for 64.
Wesley in their turn were 83 for 3 at the close off 28 overs and 105 minutes with T. Johar making an attractive 36.
