Wesley College trounced Carey by ten wickets in their inter school cricket encounter concluded at Campbell Park yesterday.

The Wesleyites compiled 227 in their first innings with A. Johar making a top score of 68. In reply the visitors were shot out for just 81 runs with M. Zainudeen claiming 5 for 27. The medium paceman took 4 for 63 in the second innings too as Carey were dismissed for 167 runs in their second innings.

Wesley: 227 (A. Johar 68, D. Jayakody 32, C. Siriwardena 28, P. Amarasekera 25, A. Gunawardena 23, M. Zainudeen 23, A. Suranga 5 for 61, N. Sivanandan 3 for 67) and 25 for no loss.

Carey: 81 (A. Suranga 38, Y. Roshan 14 n.o, M. Zainudeen 5 for 27, A. Gunawardena 2 for 14, B. Senadhira 2 for 5) and 167 (D. Bandara 30, Y. Jayawardena 29, M. Hashmath 29, M. Zainudeen 4 for 63, B. Senadhira 3 for 28, A. Gunawardena 2 for 20).
