Cut eye prevents Sohail playing

PAKISTAN opening batsman Aamir Sohail is out of the four-day match against Tasmania here today after falling in the dressingroom following his team's defeat by the West Indies on Tuesday.

Wearing a large bandage over his right eye as he stepped off the plane here, Sohail said the cut - which required 10 stitches would sideline him for four or five days. The left-hander said he slipped in the changing-rooms after the seven-wicket loss in the World Series match in Adelaide.

Pakistan captain Wasim Akram said the team for the only four-day game of their Australian tour would be decided on the morning of the match.

South Africa, meanwhile, have refused to play Test cricket in the Indian city of Ahmedabad in future. President of the United Cricket Board of South Africa, Krish Mackerdhuj, said his team would not return after being beaten there by India during the recent tour.

``On our future tours to India, we will not play in Ahmedabad. It has been decided,'' Mackerdhuj said.
