The series will begin with a day-night game between India and South Africa at Hyderabad on October 17, and climax with a day-night encounter at the Wankhede Stadium in Bombay on November 6.
The Titan Cup is the seventh limited-overs championship to be staged entirely, or partly, by India. Apart from the two World Cups in 1987 and 1996 which were joint ventures, India has hosted the MRF Nehru Cup, the Videocon Asia Cup, the Hero Cup, and the Wills World Series, in each one of which at least three countries have participated.
As can be seen from the table below, Australia has the best record of the three teams on view here, followed by South Africa, with India bringing up the rear.
