S.M.Patil captained in place of M.Azharuddin who opted out in the
last minute. S.R.Tendulkar declined the invitation as he was
getting married later this month. Srinath, Prabhakar and Kumble
couldn't play as they were playing in English Counties. A full
strength West Indies team was initially expected to play but
since WI accepted to play a sixth test in England, the team had
to leave early.
